Its water-resistant steel case and scratch-proof sapphire crystal provides rugged versatility, while its solar-powered movement offers low-maintenance reliability by constantly charging under natural and artificial light. Powered by Light
The Lightwell MkIII is driven by a reliable solar-quartz movement from Seiko. A discrete solar panel underneath the dial converts both natural and artificial light into electrical energy, which means the watch is constantly charging– even indoors and under cloudy weather.
No Batteries Necessary
Unlike conventional quartz watches, this movement does not use a silver oxide battery and will therefore never require a battery replacement.
316L Stainless Steel Case
The case of the MkIII is a nod to the classic mid-century field watch: a bold chamfered bezel atop a cylindrical center case with slab sides and tapered lugs. The case features brushed finishing throughout, with contrasting polished bevels on the lugs and bezel.
It's constructed using surgical grade 316L stainless steel for its high strength and corrosion-resistance. Measuring 39.5 mm wide, 9.25mm thick and 47mm from lug to lug, it's mid-sized case is well-balanced, versatile, and perfect for everyday wear.
100 Meter Water Resistance
The watch features a screwdown crown and caseback to help achieve a solid water resistance rating of 10ATM. Capable of being submerged 100 meters underwater, the Lightwell is tough enough to go surfing, fishing, or snorkelling in the deep end.
AR Coated Sapphire Crystal
A thick, flat sapphire crystal protects the dial while offering low-maintenance durability. Incredibly scratch-resistant, Sapphire is rated nine out of ten on the Mohs hardness scale, second only to diamond.
We applied several layers of anti-reflective coating for clarity and better light transmittance.
Luminescent Hands & Dial
The hands and numeric markings are coated with Super-LumiNova BGW9 luminescence that emits a deep blue-green glow after absorbing light.
Vegetable-Tanned Leather
Our straps are made using full grain vegetable-tanned leather that will wear in beautifully over time.
Although chrome-tanned leather is cheaper and faster produce, we use vegetable-tanned leather because it uses organic tannins instead of toxic chemicals, making it the smarter and healthier choice for both the planet and craftsmen that hand make our straps.
